From 1 January 2015, the current Franchising Code of Conduct will be repealed and replaced with a new Code which will apply to all franchise systems operating in Australia.
For example, while many provisions of the current Code will remain, some of the changes the new Franchising Code will bring include:
· introducing an obligation for parties to act in good faith in their dealings with one another
· introducing financial penalties and infringement notices for serious breaches of the Code
· requiring franchisors to provide prospective franchisees with a short information sheet outlining the risks and rewards of franchising
· requiring franchisors to provide greater transparency in the use of, and accounting for, marketing funds.Further info visit www.accc.gov.au

What's a Web Bug?
There are two ways to include images in an email, attached, or a link to the image on the web. When you see a prompt to "display images" you're loading pictures off the web. A web bug is when you use those pictures to track who's reading your emails, most newsletters do this. The server watches to see if you show the picture and passes that information back to the sender, confirming you've opened their email. From Copenhagen Fashion Summit, the Sustainable Fashion Academy held a symposium on Natural Capital Accounting (NCA) for policy makers, organizations, designers and other interested parties. NCA is a way to value the finite stock of natural assets (air, water and land) provided free of charge by nature, which are used by a range of industries to provide consumer goods and services.

GOTS releases Version 4.0 for textile processing
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) International Working Group has released Version 4.0 of the worldwide recognized standard for processing of textiles made from at least 70 per cent or 95 per cent certified organic natural fibers.

Look for the percentage and type of recycled content, which you should find next to the recycled symbol, The more "post-consumer" recycled content the better.

Rebuilding the TCF Ormoc Sewing Centres
A 40ft container of donated sewing machines, textiles, and sewing haberdashery and emergency relief items sailed for TCF OCCCI, Ormoc, Philippines on 8th Feb. Ormoc was in the path of Typhoon Yolanda that hit the Leyte Province late 2013. Thanks to all who donated items for the fundraising raffles and financial donations towards the shipping freight costs. A Special ‘big’ thankyou to the Zip Group & Gabriella Frattini Fashion Stores, Australia for donating hundreds of cartons of fashion garments and shoes for the Typhoon Survivors. Thanks also to our many volunteer packers.
