is taking sustainable building solutions to the grassroots level. Latest project ‘Litter of Light, bringing eco-friendly bottle light to communities living without electricity. You need sunshine, an old plastic bottle filled with water and chlorine, you get a 55-watt solar bulb that refracts sunlight! Blinds could be the future of power generation
Deakin University PhD student Gayathri Devi Rajmohan has applied a plasma treatment to alter the surface of the tiny spheres in order to load more dye and to improve the movement of electrons. This means that more sunlight can be captured and converted to electricity. "By using this new technology we have started to increase the efficiency of the dye-sensitised solar cell and we believe this is one step closer to seeing our city buildings covered with cheap, flexible and efficient solar panels, so that, just like a rainforest, every bit of sunlight is captured and used without leaving any carbon footprint."Contact us for the article

Shoes leave a big carbon footprint
Fashion Exposed reports: The footwear industry is questioning its manufacturing processes after it emerged that shoes have a surprisingly large carbon footprint. A study conducted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology found that a typical pair of running shoes generates 30lbs of greenhouse gases, the equivalent of keeping a 100 watt light-bulb burning for an entire week. This is a sizeable environmental impact for a product that does not use electricity or require sophisticated components. Katharine Hamnett says “Ethical Clothing Cannot be a Pity Product”
“You might think people would buy clothes out of pity, but they won’t. People buy clothes because they want to be excited about themselves. So it can’t just be goody-goody clothing; it has to be great clothing that just happens to be goody-goody, too. You’ve got to put the fashion first.” — British designer Katharine Hamnett, speaking in the June 5, 2013 edition of the Telegraph. If you have an Ethical product and want to assess where your real competitive advantage is, contact us for a marketing consultation.

Sherrell Dorsey reports: Traditional manufacturing processes of fabrics we use in clothing, personal products and the like, include the overuse of water, toxic chemicals used in the process and the harmful impact it causes to the environment. But all that could change if a group of talented engineers, entrepreneurs and thinkers can come up with a better solution. Nike, NASA, the U.S. Agency for International Development and the U.S. State Department present the LAUNCH System Challenge 2013—a competition that calls for the creation of new sustainable materials. Specifically, the group is seeking innovative ideas for fabric materials that centre on human and planetary prosperity and sustainability

Adepto admitted that they had made false and misleading representations in relation to advertising services that were never requested. Even if small businesses did not agree to take out an ad, Adepto posted them a copy of the ad as published in the publication and an invoice seeking payment. If the business did not pay, Adepto representatives made follow-up calls demanding payment for the unwanted and unordered ad. How these scams start: You receive a call from someone claiming to represent a business directory or publication you’ve never heard of… For more information on false billing scams and other scams targeting small businesses, visit the SCAMwatch small business scams section or contact us
